I just returned from Davenport, Iowa where I was a member of a panel of four Registers of Deeds that spoke to the audience of 200 other Registers from across the country. MERS VP Mr. William Hultman presented his defense of the system first, we offered the rebuttal.  I have been vocal on the issue of MERS since my first letter to the public in September of 2011. I will post the details of my points on my website and Facebook pages.

The point of this post today is the link that all of the issues that drive me can be reduced to.  And that is the fact that the pace of the corporate take-over of our country is unprecedented, and must be stopped.  You see, I have spent most of my life educating people on Monsanto, and a good chunk of my free time over the last 3 years educating folks on Northern Pass and Hydro Quebec.  What I have gathered from these thousands of conversations is that we as a people are finally waking up.

What Washington saw this week in front of the Dept. of Justice was a protest of the banking industry and the fraudulent foreclosures with the facilitation that MERS brought to the table.  Our citizens, many of them grandmothers, are joining blockades of evictions, putting their bodies between sheriffs and the homeowners about to be evicted.

What we will see this Saturday during the Millions against Monsanto March across the globe at 2:00pm will be the union of Christians and Pagans who both believe that our scientists are over stepping boundaries with certain GMO practices and the patenting of life.

What we will see this weekend is the gathering of veterans and of all wars coming together with their families to pay the long overdue respect for service in the Vietnam War.  When these veterans come together, discussion of Monsanto and the damage inflicted by its product Agent Orange will be discussed.

What we will see going forward will be the fight against Keystone.  What I am asking is for you to pick what you care about and step out. Get out there.  This summer can and will be the summer of the American protest.  All of you underemployed, unemployed and college students with no path forward, pick an issue and DO something. The old hippies are getting tired, we need the reinforcements.

As I said to my 3 little boys after the Bush v Gore decision, “Where are the American people?  Why aren’t they in the streets?”  My answer to my own question…. “We have not yet bottomed out.”  And now 13 years later I do believe that we have hit the bottom and hopefully the tipping point.

So America, on Memorial Day, June 9th in Concord, Saturday May 25th in Concord, 4th of July and every other day in between, I beg you to do something peaceful to add your voice to the conversation.

I have been waiting for you!
